Auburn, Alabama Statistic: Population, Charts, Map, Steets and More

The Census Bureau's 2010-2011 American Community Survey (ACS) reveals important details about the residents of Auburn City, Minnesota. The ACS reports that in 2017, there were 6,007 households in the city. The most common types of households were one-person, two-person, and three-person households. The ACS also reports the number of persons living in group quarters. In Auburn, there were 337 people living in group quarters.

According to the ACS, six percent of Auburn households are classified as large families. Of these, 48 percent live in owner-occupied housing and 52 percent rent. This group is notorious for living in small housing units and for paying inflated prices for rent. However, in Auburn, there are more large families than small. It is estimated that the city has 3,426 households with three or more bedrooms. This means that many households have several children and are therefore living in small houses.

As a part of the Placer Collaborative Network and Placer Consortium on Homelessness, Auburn City supports the development of a 24-hour emergency shelter. The city is proud to support the emergency shelter program, and will look for ways to contribute to its operation. Each year, the City will review the Housing Element and submit the results to the State Department of Housing and Community Development and the Governor's Office of Planning and Research.

Overall, the City of Auburn is older than Placer County. Twenty to forty-four-year-olds make up 16 percent of the population. The remaining population is dominated by the senior citizen population. Those fifty-four-year-olds are often living with their parents and beginning to establish themselves. As a result, the growth in older people in Auburn is less than that of other Placer County cities.
