East Point, Kentucky Statistic: Population, Charts, Map, Steets and More

In a recent survey, we asked residents of East Point, Georgia, about their daily commutes. Almost six in ten commuted by car. Another one-third, or 17.2%, took public transit. Below is a chart that displays the number of households who used different modes of transportation over time. The chart uses a logarithmic scale on the y-axis, which enables us to better understand variations in smaller means of travel. In addition, we looked at the number of households that owned cars. Amongst these households, only 235 commuted by taxi.

The city has a population of 34,957. The percentage of citizens born in the United States is the lowest in Georgia. The highest proportion of non-citizens is in Union City, which is located just over a mile away. As a result, East Point, GA is considered a low-income neighborhood. Residents are generally very happy with the city's quality of life.

The city is home to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The city was once home to the regional repository of U.S. Census data. However, the National Archives has since relocated the facility to Morrow, Georgia, near Atlanta. The city has a diversity of population and is not homogeneous, though. This makes it a diverse community with a mix of cultures and backgrounds.

The city is home to several parks, including Sumner Park and Sykes Park. A large portion of the town's streets was subdivided and developed in the 1890s, allowing for more homes, churches, and places of employment. A small railroad station and a telegraph office also served the city. The city boasted of producing several notable athletes, including Reggie Rutland, Jon Jennings, Bill Thorn, Donald Adams, and Jay Hudson.
