The town of Kearny is located in Hudson County, New Jersey. It is a suburban community of Newark. According to the 2010 census, the town had a total population of 40,684, which is an increase of 5.7% from the 1990 census. The town is located near the mouth of the Hudson River. Kearny's racial makeup is predominantly White, with over 25% of the population being of Hispanic descent. The majority of the population speaks Spanish.
